About this Website
In late 2019 the University of Wollongong partnered with the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District-Multicultural Health Service (ISLHD-MHS) to host two community discussions with the Macedonian1 community. Parents and young adults were asked about their thoughts and views about the school vaccination program and the human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccination.
During these discussions some Macedonian community members had questions about the school-based vaccination program and the human papillomavirus (HPV).
These questions related to HPV & Cancer, the HPV vaccination, and Side-effects & Safety of the HPV vaccine. There were also questions asking why some people are unsure about vaccines.
This website wants to answer these questions.
After reading the answers to the questions, you may want some more information about the HPV vaccine or other vaccines.
Information from the Australian Federal and State governments have about vaccines can be found at:
- The Australian Government Department of Health website & booklet
- The Cancer Council’s HPV Vaccine website

Please note this website is only discussing the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccine.
